Working with clay invites me to slow down, be fully present, and embrace the process rather than focus solely on the outcome. The pottery wheel has taught me many of the same lessons I share with my clients: patience, self-compassion, flexibility, and the understanding that growth often comes through imperfection. Clay has a way of reflecting life back to us. It reminds us that we can reshape, repair, and begin again.
The connection between mental health and ceramics has opened my eyes to the powerful role creativity plays in emotional well-being. Creating with our hands engages the mind differently, helping us quiet the noise of everyday life, reduce stress, and find moments of peace and flow. In a world that often encourages us to rush, pottery invites us to pause, breathe, and simply be present.
